white fire
by shyanah kugaleswaran
white fire paints many emotions and experiences.
the highs and lows of life does not happen linearly, and this collection is one to showcase that. our lives are fragments of time where we experience feelings, lessons, and moments that simply cannot be understood in one way. we come across diverse people, cultures, communities and the circumstances of our birth have an even larger impact on who we become, or who we choose to be. despite having this linear idea of growth, the evolution of the ‘self’ happens in many stages.
“I” is the only letter capitalized in the poetry and prose collection - to emphasize we are the beginnings of our realities, and to place importance on “self” and “identity.” reality begins within us first.
white fire stands as a symbol of choices, bravery, growth, and perspectives. it is an energy within us, that we must strive to find that allows us to become our most authentic selves. despite our differences, hardships, and past we can carve a future for us that will give us strength every day to be true to ourselves.
to see reality, is to see the entirety of it. but it begins with you first.

Outstanding! I absolutely loved reading this book. This book captures both the beauty and the ugly of life but in a way you would’ve never thought of. When you start to read 1 page you get hooked to read more. I personally am not the type to read or love a book so much but I LOVED reading this beautiful creation. It will change your mindset and the way you think of life. It’s most definitely worth the read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Felt like she was in my head feeling everything I've been feeling and found the right words to ever so beautifully express it in text. Such a talented author. I cannot wait for more books.
